ChickTech: Middle School is a week long, hands on summer camp put on by ChickTech Portland every summer for girls entering grades 6-9. We strive to make camp a different and fun experience every year so that girls can return every summer that they are eligible.

Previous years activities have included 3D printing, game design, website development, UX design, building solar powered phone chargers and learning about renewable energy, designing interactive greeting cards, and more.

Camp usually also includes fun break activities like yoga, field trips to tech companies, and opportunities to meet inspiring women who work in tech and STEM fields.

Middle School Camp – 2018

From August 6th-10th 2018, we are hosting the 4th annual ChickTech Middle School Camp. Middle School Camp is designed for 22 rising 6th graders through rising 9th graders. The camp is for self-identified girls, non-binary youth, or trans youth. This 5-day camp will give youth exposure to all different kinds of technology with hands on technical workshops. Examples of previous workshops include learning to code, building your own website and 3D printing. (Stay tuned for this year’s schedule!) These workshops require no previous experience with technology!

The cost of the camp is $250 for the full week. Scholarships are available for low-income people and can be requested by emailing the Camp Director, Danielle Hubbard, at Danielle.hubbard@chicktech.org.
